A walk in Florence inspired by Ivory's "A room with a view"

"A room with a view" is surely one of my favourite movies.

The fact that is partly set in Firenze makes it just better, so I can dream of it when I walk around the street of the centre (I actually did it since I've studied at Conservatorio L. Cherubini, just between Piazza Santissima Annunziata and Galleria dell'Accademia).

If you like me love to visit the sets of your favourite movies, I'm sure you'll enjoy the walk in the city centre of Florence that is following the adventures of our beloved Lucy Honeychurch!

A. The window of Pensione Bertolini

That's where our walk begins. Just in front of Ponte Vecchio, the Pensione is today the Hotel degli Orafi.

B. The view on Ponte Vecchio

The window with the view, is though a location in via de' Bardi, from the other side of the Arno.

C. Piazza Santissima Annunziata

On the second day Charlotte goes for a tour of Florence with another guest, novelist Eleanor Lavish.

D. Basilica di Santa Croce

In the meantime, Lucy wanders off to explore more sights alone. Once in Santa Croce, she bump into Mr. Emerson, visiting the

E. Piazza della Signoria and Loggia dei Lanzi

E. Galleria degli Uffizzi and Lungarno de' Medici

A detour on the hills

The famous “first kiss” scene was filmed at Fattoria di Maiano. The Villa has beatuful gardens, available for tours and visits! Defenitely worth a stop!
